So we’ve already told you about all of the other free concerts series the city is hosting this summer, but there’s more!  The City Parks Foundation is presenting their free concert series at parks across the city.

This month and next, check out artists like Grammy Award winner, Chrisette Michele, Jon B., Joe or Raekwon.  Dig in the crates a bit and pay homage to hip hop pioneers Sugar Hill Gang, Lovebug Starski & Friends or their successors Slick Rick, MC Lyte and KRS-One.  Salsa more your thing?  Head to St. Mary’s Park in the Bronx for the percolating percussion of Hector Tricoche y Su Orquestra or Paquito Guzman y Su Orquestra.  They’ve even got gospel artist Hezikiah Walker in the line up.

City Parks Foundation is dedicated to putting New York City parks to good use, especially during these sunny months so take advantage. According to their website, “City Parks Foundation is the only independent, nonprofit organization to offer programming in parks throughout the five boroughs of New York City.” With all that said, who can pass up one of the best things about NYC in the summer: free shows?  Check below for the full City Parks schedule:
