Recession-Friendly Wedding Event
June 8, 2009 by Lauren Fairbanks

Are wedding bells ringing for any of you ladies (and gents) our there? Staying true to lousy economy, a group of seven New York City vendors are getting together to help you brides-to-be organize and put together a low cost wedding and reception. They’ve got the planning covered on all fronts, including catering, stationary, jewelry, photography, floral arrangements and of course, bridal couture.
The event is being held at Sweet Revenge, a tasty little cupcake beer and wine bar in the West Village (if you head down, we seriously recommend trying the cupcakes — especially the strawberry one).
From the press release:
For the Bride-to-Be with a flair for fashion but a cost-conscientious approach for her wedding plans, this must-attend event offers high-style wedding options that fit get-real budgets. Local business owners Marlo Scott (Sweet Revenge), Robin Goldsmith (Scissor Paper Stone), Courtney Kern (Events Beyond), Peta Takai (Koru DesigNZ), Joshua Freiwald (Joshua Freiwald Photo), Denise Fasanello (Denise Fasanello Floral Design) and Janelle Funari (Orangia Collection) have teamed up to bring you stylized cupcakes, spectacular stationary, smart wedding planning services, striking jewelry, stunning photography, stylish modern floral arrangements, and savvy, ecofriendly bridal couture.
.
One lucky bride-to-be will receive a gift basket with a signed copy of Martha Stewart’s Wedding Cake Book, gift certificates for our wedding services, and other goodies.
