Low-Cost Coney Island Halloween Fun

October 27, 2008 by Jeffrey L. Wilson

Dreamland Roller Rink has played host to many bright and cheery skate parties, but this weekend Lola Staar and her creepy compatriots, Cha Cha’s and Captain Bob, team up to take ghouls and girls on a walk on the wild side with Coney Island Day of the Dead Extravaganza.

For just $23, Coney Island becomes your own personal spooktown. The event begins with Captain Bob’s Vampires and Zombies of Coney Island Tour (6:30PM, all ages), leads to a the season finale par-tay at Dreamland Roller Rink Day of the Dead Haunted Masquerade Ball (7PM to Midnight, 21+) and concludes with a  drink at Cha Cha’s (10PM to 2AM, 21+) with live music performances by East Village Pharmacy and Tough Love!.

So if you live in Brooklyn and  don’t feel like making the trek to The Village Halloween Parade, Coney, the year-round gatekeeper of all things oddball, serves up plenty of good times for the Brooklyn set. $23 bucks for all-night partying? Sounds like a keeper.
