Beer cans

I wouldn’t say that I’m the biggest sport fan, but I do love a good baseball game. The screaming crowds, the sea of jerseys, the intensity of overtime. But expensive seats, traffic jams and break-the-bank beer prices can make the experience less than stellar. Thankfully, Duke’s in Union Square has ponied up a nice solution to that problem: a front-row seat and ice cold beer – sans the ridiculous prices.

The bar/restaurant broadcasts Yankee and Mets games on their giant flat screens flanked by their seemingly random, fun memorabilia. Signs like “Bad Water, Drink at Bar,” adorn the walls and the Trivial Pursuit game cards placed on each table will keep you entertained during commercial breaks.

Along the bar, surrounding tables or lounging in booths, you’ll get to partake in the game atmosphere as screaming fans act as if they were actually in the stadium.

But the best part? Duke’s offers $1 Bud Light draft beers ($5 pitchers) and half price wings during the games (Yankees and Mets only).  So if you’re anything like us, you’ll be praying for some overtime.  And if you’ve still got a few dollars to burn, their sweet potato fries are killer.
