Get that loving feeling wherever you can pick up a WiFi signal. The guys that brought you SpeedDate.com have now developed a free iPhone app that allows you to keep up with your online dating 24/7. Screen potential lovers, send electronic winks at random people, and set up coffee dates while you’re on the go.
From the Press Release:
Why keep online dating confined your computer, when you can take it everywhere you go? Just in time for Valentine’s Day, SpeedDate.com, the world’s first speed dating Web site, is the first major dating site to launch an iPhone application that offers portable, immediate and 24-hour access to the millions of singles engaged in online dating.
Interested parties can download the app from iTunes here.

Do people really date this way?
You know, it seems to me like the Twitter of online dating. I’d think that your messages to another person would tend to be brief and to the point, which sort of takes all the fun out of it.
I guess some people might find this appealing since it cuts out the meat of the conversation and cuts straight to the chase. But I can’t imagine it really leading to any serious relationships.
Then again, I could be totally full of myself — I actually met my boyfriend through Craigslist.
